How I Accidentally Found My Focus For 2025
My marketing had lost its oomph and I needed change. I thought I'd found the answer, but it didn't work out. As frustrating as that was, it inspired a new plan - a better plan and I accidentally found my focus for 2025.
If I had one word to sum up my business in 2024, I'd probably go with: uninspiring.
Don't get me wrong, I had some wonderful clients, got some amazing feedback, and was able to take at least one week off every month from June to December. It was good.
But when it came to my marketing, I felt like I'd lost my 'oomph'.
It just all felt a bit bland.
LinkedIn has been my biggest source of new clients since 2020, but in the last 12 months, it has started feeling like a slog. Same shit, different day.
My daily emails were all over the place. They started in 2021 with a focus on marketing, then they became more about business in general, but last year, they just lacked direction. Plus, I was struggling to get new subscribers (probably because I wasn't really sure what I was trying to do with them anymore).
And as for my blog posts, they were sporadic. I thought it would be easier to get back on track once I separated my two business - Make Your Copy Count for copywriting training and marketing strategy and LS Mentoring for mentoring services. But while I did put a few in-depth guides on both sites, I haven't been consistent.
Basically, I needed a change. I needed renewed inspiration and motivation. I needed to find my marketing mojo again.
